After a busy day on the island we were starving and looking for food. I'm glad we came here. The lobster roll was delicious, not overly buttery and for $8 I got twice as much lobster. The clam chowder was delicious as well. We also enjoyed the linguini with clams. The mojito was good not great and the sautéed mushroom need some work, I wasn't a fan of how they were prepared. Overall a very good experience. A bit on the pricey side as our dinner and drinks were about $100 for two but we did order a lot of food and appetizers. Also service was great. It wasn't busy season being beginning of June, we got a table on the deck overlooking the water. Great atmosphere. I would come back here again.

Great service and the food was great. Very nice view I would defiantly be back. Our waiter was great!!

Great view for sure! Had the Seafood Louis and Swordfish ( pretty good but both came out in a pool butter). Tucker was our server; very nice and attentive. Thanks for the good experience!

Great breakfast. Coffee was hot, service was quick and attentive. Didn't have to beg for refills of water (a pet peeve) or coffee. The hash browns are crisp, tasty potato cubes. I had the egg sandwich, my companion had the breakfast burrito, both very good. The people next to us had omlettes that looked nice and fluffy. Definitely would come back. Very convenient location.

Eh. I think it gets busy because it's a short walk from the ferry across the street to the Harbor Grill but I can't say if ever look to go back. Started with the calamari - I suspect it was a bag of frozen rings dropped it hit oil, but I guess you can buy squid tubes-only it's just that they are usually flavorful ... Well, they usually have some flavor at all. Very boring appetizer. I had the clam strips which were like little baby clam fritters (it is RI so I guess it's unfair to expect the same clams if get in CT or on the Cape) and my guy had the lobster quesadilla which was a success. So, stop in for the lobster roll (cold or hot, which is a nice choice) or lobster quesadilla all reasonably priced at $18 in the summer of 2014. However, if like me you don't done on the creatures that mate for life hold off and find someplace else a little further (or is it farther?) inland. Btw - the potty brings to mind "Desperado" but when you gotta go, you gotta go. Bring Purell.

Fantastic!! Great view, great food, and great service! Best meal we had on our short visit to Block Island. Came for dinner. Had the caprese, wings, and spinach & artichoke dip for appetizers (though the dip was served with wonton chips which was odd to us). We had seafood Louie's, ahi tuna special, NY strip special, and burger for dinner. All were incredible! Highly recommended!!

Breakfast at Harbor Grill. Wow - what a fabulous breakfast. Hubby had a Breakfast Burrito- it was huge and delicious. Clean plate club on that one. I had Pancakes with butter and syrup. Hello?? I'm talking 3 of the biggest, most fluffy, delicious pancakes I ever had!! Service was super and you can't beat the view - overlooking Old Harbor. A+ all the way.

First of, their location provides all consumers with an excellent view if they want it. The restaurant faces the harbor, and when the sunlight twinkles against the soft waves that make a little sound, the food tastes a lot better. Now, for the important stuff. The food. As you can imagine, The Harbor Grill is full of seafood. Now, this is not a problem, but the quality of the food does not correspond with their prices. Normally, when I order seafood, I do expect it to taste like fish, and I like to smell the sea when I eat it. When I ate their lobster pasta, I got the entire ocean. The food tasted a bit... too fishy and easily overwhelmed my taste buds. The raw, stagnant flavor killed my appetite, and I am glad that I saved it for last. The dish should not have costed $30. I also tried their wings, which I first thought was an odd choice for an oceanside restaurant, but nonetheless, they tasted fine. The quality was not as good as something like Buffalo Wild Wings (for obvious reasons) but it was definitely acceptable. Overall, the restaurant was a decent place to dine, with its scenery saving it from being worse. The service was nice and the cups and plates were good. The salt and pepper shakers are a bit different from the ones you would normally find, but they were just fine.

Located on Water Street facing the harbor, Harbor Grill was a perfect place to have a late lunch on their porch while waiting for the ferry. We had the warm lobster rolls, which were very good, and they made a pretty good margarita as well. Definitely worth visiting again!

We stopped by for lunch and it sucked. The whole belly fried clams were filled with black spots and tasted like they were not good. See pictures. Totally gross. Extra grease for your enjoyment. It took forever. My wife have a lifeless veggie patty with freezer burn. I remember the place had better food. They took my clams off the bill...but it was a bad experience. I'll bet they make a lot of money because it's the classic tourist trap.

Great view of the ocean, food presentation was excellent. Had the clam cakes and chowder and it was delicious!

Visited again one year later for a late afternoon lunch. Still a great place. Ordered chowder and clam cakes again--the chowder is fantastic, and the clam cakes were larger and more standard-sized than they were previously. Once again went for the tuna rueben and it was delicious. Definitely glad we returned!

The tuna appetizer is delicious. Highly recommend. For my entree, I went with the fried clams. Definitely a good portion of clams, but I was not impressed by 1/3 of my plate being cole slaw. I do think that there was more cole slaw than clams, typically cole slaw is served in a small soufflé dish, but not here. Definitely a great spot to have a meal, a few drinks, and to enjoy the view.

Food was excellent! Service was great too! Prices were beyond reasonable for steak and seafood on block island. Cudos to the chef!

Wow, I was surprised to see the mixed reviews here on Yelp. The only complaint I had was the price, which, on Block Island is to be expected. Also, if the food is phenomenal, does it matter how much it costs? My fiance ordered the Lobster Ravioli ($28) which was a heaping mound of succulent pouches of lobster goodness. In addition, the sauce contained no fewer than 4 whole lobster claws (de-shelled, of course), just waiting to be devoured - an extremely creamy and decadent entree. I chose a seared Swordfish steak over an asparagus and sun-dried tomato risotto ($25), which I believe was one of the specials for the evening. The risotto was perfect and the swordfish was absolutely divine. Service was excellent. Our waitress left us alone, but appeared at the right moments to refill drinks and ask about our meals. Be prepared to fork over some change, but it's absolutely worth every dime.

The meal started well, as the mussels (nice butter and wine sauce) and lobster and avocado salad were good. Unfortunately, it took a sharp down turn after that. The grilled tuna was an OK piece of tuna, and the sauce was OK, but it was the strangest shaped tuna steak I've ever seen. It was wedged shaped, 1 1/2 inches thick on one end, but inch on the other. The thick end was medium rare as I requested, but the thin end was well done. While (the thick end) was cooked to order, it was very poorly prepared. It did not look grilled. I don't know how they cooked it, but it looked almost poached. There were no grill marks, nor did it have anything resembling a crispy or seared exterior. On top of that, it was ice cold. This was not the cool temperature/texture of medium rare tuna. This was frankly cold. I like sashimi, but I didn't think that was what I was ordering... My wife ordered the grilled swordfish. It was well prepared, but it was a poor cut of swordfish (it had a large, dark section in the middle), the sauce was mediocre, and the risotto was very disappointing. The rice was mushy and the sauce oily. The was none of the creamy goodness of properly prepared risotto. The people were really nice, so I feel bad giving it 2 stars, but the entrees were really disappointing.

Great deck and view right in old harbor across from the ferry. A staple of block island with the standard fare and a few special items like blackened tuna Reuben and lobster quesadillas. The blackened tuna was amazing with the perfect spice. Seemed weird at first but was incredible. The lobster and avocado salad was huge chunks of lobster and was delicious. Also has a kids menu and did I mention the view!

I'm not a fan of seafood, but I had no other choice in Block Island. Well, my friends and I ordered hot lobster roll, fish n chip, crab cakes, cold lobster roll and tuna salad. The hot lobster was the best out of all. The crab cakes weren't that good. The fish n chip was pretty good. I liked the crispy part. The server was really nice. I would recommend looking around first though.

What a great evening. When we arrived (a group of four) we asked if we could have dinner on the cocktail side of the front porch (wicker chairs & loveseats) instead of the dinner side. Not a problem. It's SO pleasant out there, soft lighting, and as night falls you see the lights on the ferry go on across the street. There is something special about watching the last boat of the night head for the mainland, all lit up, with the knowledge that you are on this lovely island for the night. On to the food: one friend and I split two seafood entrees, I forget exactly what they were but both were fantastic. The other two in our group were equally happy w/their dinners. Weeks later we'd say to each other "it was REALLY good, huh? I'm not remembering wrong?" Nope, it was that good. And reasonable prices to boot.

Good solid breakfast here and the service was very good. I had a breakfast Burrito and my wife had an omelet. As island prices go, it was about med priced. Good view of the ferry coming going if that's your thing.

This was by far the worst breakfast meal I have ever had. I ordered the California Omelet with pancakes. The omelet was generic, it had salsa sauce that you buy canned at the supermarket. The pancakes were the worst. I asked for maple syrup and the waitress said that what they served was maple syrup. It clearly was pancake syrup that you buy at the supermarket filled with preservatives. I had a few bites of my breakfast and that was about it. I will never eat in this establishment again seeing that they don't take any pride in the taste of their food. The food looks good but has no real natural flavors. At the end of the meal the waitress never asked "how was your meal?" which was a clear sign that they know their food is not good and they could care less if you liked the meal or not. It was expensive and tasteless. I wouldn't recommend this place.
